Her price is far above rubies.
She is worth far more than jewels.
Her price is greater than pearls.
In proverbs chapter 31:10, the writer compares the value of the virtuous woman with the price of rubies . The ruby was one of the stones in the high priest’s breastplate of judgement (Ex. 28:17). The price of a virtuous woman is said to be “far above rubies” (Prov. 31:10). The exact meaning of the ‘Hebrew word’ is uncertain. Some render it “red coral;”others,”pearl” or “mother-of-pearl and some translated as Jewels. Any way the price of the virtuous woman is more than rubies or jewels.
